Late nights updating my facebook page definitely did a disservice to my delicate eyes. At the tender age of 28, I suddenly found myself facing the unmistakable reality of fine lines and dark eye circles appearing on my face— problems which I had sidestepped for years.

Being an eyecream virgin, I sought the help of my equally beauty obsessed counterparts, who threw a bunch of suggestions from drugstore alternatives to expensive caviar in a jar. After some research, I decided to go with the tried & tested.

Clinique has been in the market for decades and their repairwear intensive eye cream has been a longstanding product in their eye range. I religiously dabbed on a pea size dollop of the eye cream every night, gently massaging the cream in light circular motions with my fingertips.

Initially, I found the texture of the product slightly rich to my liking and was concerned that it would be too oily for my combination skin type. However I was pleasantly surprised to find that the eye cream penetrated into my skin extremely well and left little trace of oily residue after.

After a few days, my fine lines were visibly plumped up though my dark eye circles were still visible. All in all, I would probably continue with this until a better laternative comes along. It doesn’t address dark eye cirlces but certainly can help dehydrated, dull and lined undereye skin with continuous use.

  1. I personally find this too rich for my skin. I find cheaper OTC products to be just as effective. I am using a product from Garnier now, and it seems to work just as well.
