1. Make the choice to take action to create the life you want.

As they say, action speaks louder than words. We can plan all we want, but we need to put our words to action if we want to make a change. Identify the change you want to see in your life, be it learning a new language or expanding your social circle, then do something about it today!

2. Dream bigger and believe you can have what you truly want.

When children dream, they often dream big. In their minds, they can be anything they want to be; be it an astronaut or a rock star. As we grow older, our dreams become tainted by our fears and worries, and we no longer dare to dream like we used to. Free your mind and dare to dream, for only then can you really live your life to the fullest and realise your potential. Know that anything is possible in your world. As they say, aim for the moon, if you miss, you’ll land among the stars anyway.

3. Have confidence and self esteem.

Confidence and self-esteem are two of the most important values that you as a woman should have. Too many times, media portrays women as being victims of men and circumstances, know that as a women, you are empowered to love yourself and treat yourself well. Don’t ever let anyone put you down and make you feel small. You are control of your own destiny and you alone have the power to change your life for the better every day.

4. Commit to your personal happiness first.

Many women put the happiness of others before themselves. While that may be an altruistic goal, it will ultimately lead to problems. Always commit to your own well-being first. When you are happy and well, you are then able to devote yourself to others. Remember that life is a marathon and not a sprint, so take care of yourself so you can last the distance. There is no shame in having to take little “time-outs” to focus on yourself— a facial, a manicure or a yoga class, you totally deserve the break!

5. Prioritize your health and invest in yourself with time for exercise.

There is no such thing is not enough time when it comes to your health. Exercise is the one thing that you can do by yourself each day to keep your fitness and energy levels up and stay healthy in the long run. If you think you don’t have time, make time! Cut down on unnecessary habits such as television or gossiping and make time to invest in your health today.

6. Eat real food, unprocessed, whole, natural food.

If you value your health, cut down on the bad and only give yourself the best. In terms of diet, that means the freshest, natural, unprocessed food around. You don’t have to spend tons or become a diet fanatic; all we are saying is no to junk food and yes to wholesome goodness of fresh foods. You can still enjoy your food as much as before, instead of chicken nuggets, go for grilled chicken breast. Your body will thank you for it and you will see and feel the difference in weeks!

7. Follow your passion.

Too often, we forget what our passions are as we are caught up with the act of “living”. Stop. Reflect. What is your passion in life? Rediscover what makes you tick? Did you used to love biking up the mountain trails? Did you used to love painting by the beach? Identify your passion and make time for it. It will recharge your soul and make you feel one with your inner self again.

8. Value your girlfriends.

Girls are sometimes their worst enemies. When men, family and work commitments come along, the first thing many women ditch are their friends. However, these are friends who have watched you grow up, shared your dreams and fears, and know you better than you yourself. Make time for your girlfriends, and let them know that you care. Keep these priceless bonds close to your heart and you will never feel alone in this world in time of need.

9. Make time for FUN!

Fun seems like a dirty word these days. In fact, when was the last time you had fun. Think of the fun things you can do today and …have fun!

10. Keep your focus on the positive moments you have each day and be grateful for all the experiences you have that teach you about yourself and life.

Life can be a bitch and for some, it seems that there are plenty to bitch about. However, no matter how bad your day has been, keep your focus on the positives, and be grateful. By shifting your focus, you keep your life in perspective. There are always things you can be grateful for, so smile and stay happy.
