We don’t know why, but it seems that red carpet are full of side cuts that, sometimes, highlight more the love handles rather than a (flat) belly. You don’t want to risk it? Here is what to do

We all know someone or witnessed the body transformation of a celeb or social media influencer who’s committed to a diet, whether it’s Paleo, Zone, Atkins, South Beach or what’s trending at the moment. There were those impressive before/after images plastered all over the internet but ultimately, many ended up where they started off. Why do diets fail so many people and how to avoid this? Going from an ‘anything goes’ way of eating to a very strict diet is like trying to work a pair of towering 5-inches Loubies when you’ve worn flip flops or flats most of your life. You might manage for awhile, but eventually you’ll crash and fall. When it comes to love handles, flattening the tummy with intelligent dietary fixes is mandatory.  Women tend to bloat around their midsection which makes the appearance of love handles worse. Our recommendation is to detox regularly by popping a Daily Cleanse a day. This herbal detoxifier helps to regulate bowels movements and eliminate bloating, helping women achieve the appearance of a flatter tummy. For those who have more serious issues as a result of a more decadent lifestyle, opt for a 1 day urban cleanse such as Purification Cleanse. Mix it with water and chug it throughout the day to flush out toxins and rest your body systems.

Not all exercises deliver the same results. If a washboard tummy is what you are after, we have curated four of the most effective exercises to banish love handles and deliver sixpack on a platter.

Small upright V with pulse (1 minute): Stand in front of a sturdy chair, and lightly place your hands on it for support. Glue your heels together and lift them slightly, with your toes a few inches apart to make a narrow V. Begin pulsing. You’ll feel the burn in your quadriceps. In the last 10 seconds, pulsate a little lower. Keep posture upright and try taking your hands your chair to test your balance.

Right side curtsy (30 seconds): With your hands on the chair, drop your heels to the ground. Take your chest forward, pop your right heel up and bring it behind your left shoulder in a curtsy position. Begin pulsing. Try to get low and stay low through your pulsing. Pull your abs in and down and engage your core.

4-part curtsy (30 seconds): Bring your right foot in, back out, up and bend toward right elbow, back down. In, out, up, down, repeat. Do this a few times, then start to do it double time.

Deli slicer (1 minute): Lean your left forearm on your chair, right on your hip and raise your right knee up and bend it toward your right elbow. Your left supporting leg should remain standing, with your left knee slightly bent so that it does not lock. Now flex and push your right leg out behind you, and while you slice your leg through the air this way, you should feel your obliques cinching. Bend, extend and repeat.

Repeat on left side.

Blame it on bikini season, but recently, at dinner parties across the country, a topic is back on the tips of tongues: Coolshape. Not a new technology, the fat-freezing procedure formally called cryolipolysis was first discovered after, rumor has it, doctors noticed that children who ate a lot of ice pops experienced fat degradation in their cheeks. “Fat is more temperature-sensitive than your skin,” explains Dr Kenneth Lee, medical director of SW1 Clinic. “It goes through the cell death process before your skin does.”

First approved by the FDA in 2010, this procedure gained attention when it was rebranded from minor spot treatment to a noninvasive alternative to liposuction, promising to eviscerate love handles and bra bulge with the wave of a cooling paddle.

Yes, you heard right. Onda Body Magic‘s new technology uses microwave type waves called Coolwaves. Coolwaves™ act directly on fat cells, causing  an oscillation mechanism thus increasing the cells metabolism. Fat cell are so disrupted since the first treatment.

Not exactly the same as the cooking apparatus in your kitchen, Onda Body Magic’s coolwaves work to target three areas: fat reduction, reduce cellulite, tighten skin. As a result, it has been the go-to tool by A-listers in need of body remodeling as they offer a holistic treatment strategy. Onda targets fat by disrupting the membranes of subcutaneous fat cells, breaking them down. Onda also works on cellulite by disrupting the connective septa between the adipose (fat) lobules in the more advanced stages of cellulite (visible in the typical “orange peel” effect). Finally, as the icing on the cake, Onda system’s special microwaves induce immediate shrinkage of the collagen fibres in the dermis and stimulate the production of new collagen—- this translates to tighter skin.

Most people are under the misconception that you get fat when you sleep too much. A study published in the journal Sleep actually suggested that the reverse is true. Too little sleep encourages the genes that cause weight gain while a longer uninterupted slumber of 8 hours or more suppresses the action of these ‘obesity’ genes. Our fat burning hormones are at optimal levels between 10pm and 6am so unless you are asleep during these hours, you are not getting the benefits. These very same hormones also contribute to appetite and when one is lack of sleep, lower hormone production can make you hungrier the following day even if you are not. In order to take full advantage of the situation, try your absolute best to turn in early for a good night’s rest. Along with a host of other benefits you’ll reap from this one simple lifestyle modification is perhaps that missing puzzle to help bid your love handles adieu!
