So we’ve finally come to the end of the Circuit Breaker.. or have we?

A minimal sense of normalcy is restored, as some of you start to head out to work again – with masks on, of course. All we see these days on our daily commute and in offices are eyes.

Nothing, but eyes.

If your body clock is still skewed and adjusting to humane hours of sleep, it will show.

If your eyes are the windows to your soul, dark eyes circles and eye bags are the dark clouds that hang around it.

Dark Eye Circles: The Breakdown

When someone is deprived of sleep, their body does not have an adequate amount of time to recover from the exertions of the day.

This lack of recovery time causes the skin to become dull and pale. Darker colored tissues and blood vessels start to become more pronounced in appearance in contrast to the dull and pale skin…thus forming dark eye circles.

The lack of sleep might also cause a buildup of fluid beneath the eyes, making them look puffy. These are the eye bags that accompany the dark eye circles.

Other than fatigue being the leading cause for dark eye circles, genetic predisposition can also be another reason why you resemble a panda bear. Some people are just more prone to hyperpigmentation because it runs in the family.

There are a host of other factors that might cause dark eye circles. Overexposure to the sun, dehydration, age, and excessive straining of the eyes can also lead to dark eye circles.

Another bleak statistic about dark eye circles is that they could be a sign of underlying liver dysfunction and other various liver ailments. If the fixes I’m about to introduce to you do not work and the dark eye circles still linger, a visit to the doctor might be in order.
